TVXQ is Thailand’s Most Popular Asian Artist again
Despite the ongoing dispute with SM Entertainment, TVXQ's popularity shows no signs of waning. In the Channel V Music Video Awards 2009 held in Bangkok, Thailand on the 22nd, DBSK won the Most Popular Asian Artist 2009 award.
The winner of the award was voted by netizens in an online poll which saw DBSK accumulating 48% of votes, romping to victory over Big Bang, SHINee, Super Junior and the Wonder Girls with relative ease.

This was TXVQ's 2nd time winning the award after 2006, showing their immense popularity in the land of thousand smiles. Although the awards ceremony was not held in 2007 and 2008, TXVQ are still considered consecutive winners as the Most Popular Asian Artist.
TXVQ did not attend the awards ceremony that day unlike in 2006, and the award was picked up by a local representative from GMM International.

Boom loses big
The entertainer loses a lawsuit and is forced to pay up.
Popular MC Boom recently lost in a lawsuit brought up by his former agency, The Show Entertainment. As a result, he now has to fork up a sum of 468 million won (about $375,000) in losses to the company.
Boom originally signed a five-year contract with the company back in 2005. Sometime last year, however, he terminated his contract, citing that the contract had some pretty unfair terms, including unfair distribution of profits from his album sales. A few months later, in December, The Show Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Boom for unilateral termination of contract on his part.
Unfortunately for Boom, the court didn’t have enough evidence to confirm this claims and as a result, couldn’t acknowledge his reasons for terminating his contract. He was then ordered to pay the company for their losses.
What’s up with all these celebrities signing unfair contracts? I know the lures fame and fortune can be enticing, but do yourselves a favor and read the fine print!
G-Dragon is all for W
It’s hard to tell, but there’s a face in there. G-Dragon poses it up in Septembr issue of W Korea.
G-Dragon is known for his wild fashion. With this “accidentally caught in a badminton net” look and powder white complexion, G-Dragon further proves his eclectic style. I could continually point out the questionable sanity of his style, but it has pretty much become an expectation that GD will pull off some unconventional fashion. It would actually be quite a shocker if he dressed casually and normally in official photo shoots for once.
Noriko Sakai suspected of destroying evidence
New information is constantly being released in the ongoing Noriko Sakai investigation. Some of the details from the past few days suggest that Sakai may have intentionally tried to hide or destroy evidence regarding her drug use before she turned herself in earlier this month.
A sample of Sakai's hair was recently sent for drug analysis. Police confirmed that it tested positive, though the results were still weak. But it was also revealed that before her arrest, Sakai had her hair cut, reducing the ability of the analysis to accurately determine her drug history. In addition, Sakai dyed her hair, which could have weakened the results by making the drugs more difficult to detect. Sakai has stated that she only began using the drugs last summer, but her husband Yuichi Takaso has said that they started about four years ago.
Police are also still looking for her missing cell phone, which Sakai claims she threw away because it was damaged and unusable. It is believed that the data on her phone, if recovered, will help identify the sources of the drugs.
Meanwhile, Takaso's latest testimony says that the last time he and Sakai used the drugs together was ten days before his arrest on August 3. They and their son had taken a trip to Amami Oshima in the Kagoshima prefecture between July 20 and 30 to observe the solar eclipse. According to Takaso, he had taken some drugs and straws along during the trip.
Takaso has already been formally indicted for drug possession, and is now facing a second charge after the discovery of additional drugs (97 milligrams) at a house in Chiba that belonged to him. It is still not clear whether Sakai will be indicted for the 8 milligrams found in her home, but police may be able to charge her with joint possession of the drugs found at the Chiba house.
AKB48 shuffles its teams
This weekend, AKB48 performed three concerts at the Nippon Budokan. At the end of the third show, it was unexpectedly announced that the rosters of the group's three teams are being shuffled. The changes include the addition of twelve kenkyuusei members and the transfer of four members to SDN48.
The three captains will be Minami Takahashi (Team A), Sayaka Akimoto (Team K), and Yuki Kashiwagi (Team B). Teams A and K will have a total of 17 members each, while Team B will have 16.
Kayo Noro, Megumi Ohori, Yukari Sato, and Kazumi Urano have been removed from the AKB48 lineup, though they will continue their activities with SDN48. Noro has been appointed as the SDN48 captain.
AKB48's new team lineups will officially take effect in October. The group also repeated the announcement that they have scheduled some overseas concerts. They will reportedly appear at the New York Anime Festival next month, and have scheduled a mini-concert on September 26 and a solo concert at Webster Hall on September 27. However, New York Anime Festival has not yet officially announced their appearance. Then on October 5, they will perform at an opening event for the media convention MIPCOM in Cannes, France.
Ayame Koike leads new idol group
Management agency Office JR has created a new idol group comprised of four junior high girls. The group, which is currently unnamed, made their public debut at an event on Saturday.
The unit's leader is actress Ayame Koike (14), who has appeared in the movies "Sakuran" and "Always: Zoku Sanchome no Yuhi." The other three members are actress Chisa Okada (12), model Yuka Matsuda (13), and actress Rei Kawashima (13).
Their first CD single is planned for release by the end of this year. Office JR is currently accepting suggestions for the group's name.
No Twitter, Facebook for SNSD
SM Entertainment has finally come out to clarify the rumors of SNSD's Twitter and Facebook accounts which has been spreading in the community among fans.
There have been numerous Twitter accounts created recently, claiming that they were SNSD members, with some believers while others doubted it. But SM Entertainment have said that they are fake, "SNSD members don't have their own Cyworlds. Not only Cyworld, they also don't have Twitter nor Facebook accounts. We hope that fans will not be fooled by others claiming to be SNSD members themselves and please tell fellow fans about this."
SNSD ended their Genie promotions on 15th August.
Han Chae Young goes sexy for Tucson ix
Korean actress Han Chae Young became the model for car company, Hyundai recently, showing off her unique curves.
The black t-shirt that Han Chae Young is wearing, was specially produced by Hyundai to commemorate the launch of their new compact sports utility vehicle, Tucson ix.
Han Chae Young participated in the designing of the t-shirt, which has the words "Get Your Sexy", and really showed off her ample bosoms in the provocative, tight fitting t-shirt.
Hyundai had gone through many portfolios of possible candidates when it started on their marketing campaign but they decided on Han Chae Young in the end, believing in her unique sexy charisma. The t-shirts will not be for sale though, as it will only be given away to customers who purchase the new Tucson ix when it launches on the 25th.

Lee Dong Wook enters the army
We reported earlier that actor Lee Dong Wook was going to enlist in the army. Most of you probably know him from the drama My Girl with Lee Da Hae and the drama Partner which ended recently. Lee Dong Wook quickly finished filming for the movie Bean Paste on the 22nd and then spent time with his family on the 23rd.
Lee Dong Wook did his last press conference on the 24th, revealing his new haircut before joining Nonsan Army Training Center. During the conference, he revealed that he cut his hair the day before and still finds it awkward every time he looks in the mirror. Although I'm kind of wondering why he didn't go with a buzz cut like most celebrities, I do wish him the best of luck and anticipate his return... in 2 years time!

Today through Me2Day, 2NE1 member Sandara Park revealed that it has been 100 days since their debut back in May with their hot single "Fire"!
Dara wrote at around 1:30AM, "Wussup?! Jjak jjak jjak! Today's 2NE1's 100th day since debut!....^.^ Thank you for everything, I was happy! It's only been 100 days but.. This is the start, you will continue to run with us, right?" She also joked, using the lyrics from their song "I Don't Care", "Well then, I will contact (you) again at five thirty in the morning! Sleep well!^.^"
Additionally, Sandara updated again at 6:30AM, "Good morning~!^.^ Five thirty in the morning!!! What do we have planned for today? Where do we have to go that we are up so early?^^ I wonder... (They) said it's a secret! I will contact (you) again! Have a nice day!"
