Kim So Eun Takes Part in BOF Japanese Promotions
As the fans of the hit drama Boys Over Flowers already know, a Story of Four Flowers photobook will be released on September 5th. On the same day, they will be having promotions for the release in Japan. This will be the second Japanese promotion for the drama and it's about time Kim So Eun gets to take part and make an appearance.
The promotions will go on for two days, September 5th and 6th at the Yokohama National University Hall. Artists such as T-Max, Howl, Im Ju Hwan, and of course SS501 are expected to perform on stage. Not only will Kim So Eun get to make an appearance this time, but it has been reported that she will be making a stage performance as well. Lee Min Ho is also expected to show up on the 5th while Kim Bum and Goo Hye Sun will join the rest of the cast on the 6th.
The sales for the photobook seems like its going well in Japan, it is noted as number one for preorder lately. The scene will definitely be overwhelming at the promotions!

T-ara tries to be SCARY!
The T-ara members are a bunch of clowns, as they dressed up as ghosts, ghouls and monsters to scare their staff members!
The members are known to be complete goofs and what was once just a joke, has actually come to fruition. T-ara decided to dress up as ghosts, and film themselves scaring the crap out of their staff members, so that they could upload it onto the internet. Little did they know how much hard work this was going to be, as they planned everything on their own, including the content and costumes. In addition, they even headed on over to the editing room, so that they could be a part of the video production.
Costumes include Chucky (Boram), Nine-tailed fox (Qri), Chinese vampire (Soyeon), Toshio from Ju-on (Eun Jung), Vampiress (Hyomin), and Reaper (Jiyeon).
There's no release date for the video yet, but it should be soon, so stay tuned!
The 2PM beasts will charm a female star
Beastly Idol's 2PM will put on a special courtship performance to try to charm a female star at the 2009 Mnet 20's Choice!
The performance is supposed to be HOT and fan girls will of course die of jealousy. Who will be this female star? I'll leave that up to y'all to take a guess.

Kim Hyun Joong next on Family Outing
It was reported that Seungri will be taking over Daesung for an upcoming episode of Family Outing. Well, things just got better after it was revealed that SS501's leader, Kim Hyun Joong will be the next Family Outing guest.
Kim Hyun Joong will be appearing as a guest family member and is currently in the midst of a 1N2D filming, from 24 - 25th August, in a village at Gangwon-do. Kim Hyun Joong had received lots of love as Yoon Ji Hoo earlier in the year in Boys Over Flowers, and is expected to receive plenty of attention from the Family Outing "sisters", Lee Hyori and Park Si Yeon. Jang Hyuk Jae PD expressed, "Please look forward to an interesting episode."
The state funeral broadcast of former S.Korean president, Kim Dae Jung this past Sunday had led to the cancellation of Family Outing on 23rd August. As such, the second part of Choi Soo Jung's Family Outing will be aired on 30th August instead. This will be followed by Shin Hyun Joon's Family Outing on 6 and 13th September. Kim Hyun Joong's Family Outing will thus air on 20 and 27th September.
Yoona’s Real Weight & Height Publicly Revealed and She Prefers Older Men!
SNSD's Yoona was on KBS's Champagne recently as a guest, and she publicly revealed her weight as well as height.
Much to the jealousy of the female guests, doe-eyed Yoona revealed that she weighed a little less than 50Kg (~110lbs.) and was 167 cm (~5' 6") tall. It's very surprising that she's only 167 cm tall because she seems a lot taller, seeing how she towers over the shorter members of SNSD. However, this is good news for all the perfectly capable men out there who are just lacking a bit in the height department. Men who are used to walking by the "Big and Tall" clothing sections with their heads down as they hurriedly sneak their way over to the "Young Men" and sometimes even "Junior" section. Midgets, I mean men, rejoice! There's still hope!
Well, that is if you're 24 years old and younger because Yoona also revealed that she prefers older men, but only up to 5 years older. Yoona also mentioned that she was preyed upon recently when returning home from the beauty salon. She had no make up on at the time, and was wearing comfortable clothes as an older male approached her with his cell phone out asking for her number. She then politely thanked him, and turned him away.
However, that was only part of the story because she failed to mention that the male she rejected was me. I can still remember her exact words, "Eww... get away from me. What are you like 4 ft 2? What's with the long bangs, do you think you're a girl or something? I bet you still live in your mom's garage don't you? Ugh... you disgust me." Although those words were a little harsh, I was actually more surprised than hurt. I just could not figure out how she was able to guess everything correctly.
Hong Gil Dong’s descendants carry on the crime-fighting legacy
What would happen if the descendants of Joseon-era Robin Hood-like hero Hong Gil Dong were alive today and secretly carrying on his legacy of punishing evildoers and helping the poor?
That’s the premise behind the new movie Hong Gil Dong’s Descendants [홍길동의 후예], and it stars Lee Beom-soo (On Air) as that descendant, We Got Married’s Lee Shi-young as his love interest, and comedian Kim Su-ro (Our School ET) as his nemesis.
If you’ve seen the recent drama version of Hong Gil Dong, you know the basic premise of the story (even if the Hong sisters’ writing is prone to the overly exaggerated comic gag). What Hong Gil Dong’s Descendants does is reinvent the basic tale of a chivalrous bandit and place him in modern times, crossing the old folk legend with a dash of Clark Kent-ian Superman.
Lee Beom-soo plays Hong Gil Dong’s 18th-generation descendant, Hong Mu-yeok — by day an ordinary high school music teacher, by night a Robin Hood type who appears out of nowhere and vanishes mysteriously. Lee Shi-young plays his girlfriend, fellow high school teacher Song Yeon-hwa, who doesn’t know about her boyfriend’s ancestry and relation to Hong Gil Dong. Like Lois Lane, she is sometimes left confused about his odd behavior as he switches between personas.
Kim Su-ro, on the other hand, portrays a successful businessman who seems pleasant on the outside, but is actually a cold-blooded man who provides dirty money to the political world. He becomes Hong Mu-yeok’s archrival. Directing is Jung Yong-ki of Once Upon a Time, who once again utilizes a blend of action and comedy in this project.
The movie began filming on July 31 at the (Namsan) N Seoul Tower, which was a date scene between Lee Beom-soo and Lee Shi-young. The film is looking at a late 2009 releaseHigh Kick Through the Roof begins filming
The upcoming High Kick Through the Roof, the new MBC sitcom brought to you by the makers of Unstoppable High Kick, started filming this month and has already put in its first all-nighter.
The family sitcom’s first day on the set was August 20 at the Ilsan Dream Center in the city of Goyang. (The first outdoor shoot was on the 12th.) All of the main players were present, which includes grandparent characters Lee Soon-jae and Kim Ja-ok, parents Jung Bo-seok and Oh Hyun-kyung, and the younger cast including Daniel Choi (The World They Live In), Seo Shin-ae (Thank You), Shin Sae-kyung (Queen Seon-deok), Hwang Jung-eum (We Got Married), Julien Kang (Dream), and new singer AJ.
The show is being called “High Kick 2,” although it’s not really a sequel and employs all new characters. What it has in common is its PD Kim Byung-wook, who is known for creating “syndromes” (pop-culture sensations) with his sitcoms, which may lack grand visual tableaux but are bolstered by interesting stories about ordinary families that draw in viewers.
High Kick Through the Roof will premiere on September 7.

Angel’s Temptation continues the makjang tradition
Did you like SBS’s ratings monster of a drama, the quintessential “makjang” series Wife’s Temptation? Because coming soon to SBS Mondays and Tuesdays is a drama by the same writer, Kim Soon-ok, called Angel’s Temptation [천사의 유혹], and it sounds like the (narrative) craziness is back in full force.
Furthermore, directing is First Wives’ Club’s PD Sohn Jung-hyun. Both First Wives’ Club and Wife’s Temptation were two very popular series that aired in 2008 and 2009 that broke the 40% ratings mark and were often buzzed about (and criticized) for their “makjang” plots — outrageous storylines involving adultery, revenge, rape, deception and the like, designed to keep viewers hooked no matter how ridiculous the stories became.
Angel’s Temptation has cast Yoon Soyi (Goodbye Solo, City of Glass) as its lead — I presume she’s the “angel” of the title, but the word sounds like it’s applied ironically, because she’s described as a femme fatale on a revenge mission. After her parents are killed and her family ruined, Yoon’s character vows to punish the ones responsible, and therefore seduces and marries the son of her enemy. This will be a complete change for Yoon, who has hitherto played mostly good, innocent characters.
Currently, Angel’s Temptation has completed the first four scripts. It will air after Dream and premieres October 12.
I’ve seen dramas with makjang elements (Boys Before Flowers and East of Eden are examples), but I’ve never been drawn to the genre itself. But as this is a Monday-Tuesday series and not a daily (like Wife’s Temptation) or long-running weekend (First Wives Club), I might check it out.
DBSK fans want to “Always Keep The Faith”

It looks like this video was made by a Chinese fan as it originated from Baidu, and this video is not your run-of-the-mill internet video. The production value seems really high and the editing is done superbly. Although I find the video a whee bit dramatic, it does give you goosebumps as you watch DBSK work through their sweat and tears.

Drunken Tiger is on track to sell 100k albums
With the return of Drunken Tiger with his 8th album on June 29th, 2009, hip hop in Korea was reborn, and fans are loving it. The legendary hip hop artist Drunken Tiger (Tiger JK) is on the verge of selling 100,000 albums.
To date, the 8th album has sold approximately 75,000 copies, but with the additional copies in print and the sales trends, 100,000 seems to be right around the corner. This is quite a significant milestone, especially for a hip hop artist, as Korea is highly dominated by Idol boy bands.
Not only is Drunken Tiger's album doing well, but Tiger JK has been constantly receiving love calls and offers for CF's and product endorsements. The once forgotten and struggling artist, has officially made his comeback, and it is pretty damn epic.
Fans Goof Off with G-Dragon’s Album Cover
After 'Heartbreaker' was released, many kpop listeners chose their opinion on G-Dragon's capabilities as an artist - either they found G-Dragon to be a copycat (I'm going to stop using the word 'plagiarizer'; we've nearly killed that word from overuse in the past two weeks) or a trendsetter in the music industry. It seems like some fans of the latter group are taking their devotion to another level, and have been inspired to put their own personal spin on GD's creative cover! Filipino Talent Show “Fires” Up Some 2NE1
On Talentadong Pinoy, the Filipino version of the "Got Talent" series, the 4 week reigning champions Tribal Dancers choreographed 2NE1's first single, "Fire".
The talent show was created by Simon Cowell and features a head to head competition each show where a challenger performs against the returning champion, competing for a spot on the next show.
The performance was... interesting at best. The group had something lighted at the end of strings, similar to glowsticking at raves, and just kind of swayed their hips to the beat. I've honestly seen better at high school dances, but I do have to give them credit for actually lighting the things on fire.
The news isn't all that surprising with all the attention k-pop gets in the Phillipines, along with the connection 2NE1 has with Sandara Park originally debuting in the Phillipines.

Their first mini album starts off with an intro called For Muzik which has great lyrics as well as charismatic sounds. The title track is Muzik which was composed by Lee Sang Ho and Shin Sa Dong Tiger. The song has Street Sounds which was popular presently in European Clubs. Another track in the album is What a Girl Wants which as the title suggests is about things girls want from guys who seem to be oblivious to it. The song has bright sounds and it incorporates the popular 808 sounds from the past. The next song is Funny which was composed by one of Korea’s top composers Kim Do Hoon. It has house beats as well as bass. The lyrics are very fun and are very different from 4minute’s style. The last song is Don’t Want to Give It which was also composed by Shin Sa Dong Tiger and was penned by Hwang Sung Jin. It has a very trendy melody with slow tempo and groove.
