f(x) SHOWCASE DEBUT!
SM Entertainment's new girl group f(x), consisting of members Sulli, Amber, Krystal, Victoria and Luna will make their showcase debut on September 2nd, 2009 at 5:00pm KST!
They will be showing off their fashion and music, as well as interact with fans and put on their first performance at the Seoul Samsung dong Fashion Center (삼성동 섬유센터)!
The event will last 1 hour, in which they will unveil their single LACHATA and music video, as well as show off their special talents.
To support f(x), senior's Girls' Generation and SHINee will be in attendance at this showcase of SM Entertainment's newest girl group.
Oh and we finally get a good look at the mysterious Amber!
2NE1 mixing it up one more time on Inkigayo!
We told you earlier that 2NE1 will be promoting their entire mini-album which means that their I Don't Care promotions will sadly be coming to a halt, but don't think that the girls' will end it without remixing it one more time!
2NE1 has dominated numerous music charts and winning music show awards consecutively with 'I Don't Care'. We all know in K-pop that hit songs are bound for numerous remixes and 'I Don't Care' is no exception. The song will be remixed once again and expect a complete change from the original version. The third remix will be unveiled on SBS Inkigayo this August 30th.
JYP and Rain at the club
No matter how the media tries to write about JYP and Rain being on bad terms (just because Rain left JYPE and formed J.Tunes), we know that they are really good friends.
JYP uploaded a photo of him and Rain together on his Twitter saying, "Last night in Korea. In da club. Loud music, cigar, champagne, with my brother Rain. Cool...". The candid picture sees JYP smoking a cigar while Rain posed beside him. Netizens commented, "Next time, don't forget to pick me up", "Love it that you guys still have time for fun", etc.
JYP is currently in Korea, acting as producer for 2PM's upcoming album while Rain is getting ready for his Asia concert tour.

TVXQ’s Colors - Melody and Harmony Covers released
We reported earlier that TVXQ had sang a song called, Colors - Melody and Harmony which will be used as the theme song for Hello Kitty's 35th anniversary.
After performing it live on 4th July during their Tokyo Dome tour, they have decided to make it into a CD and will be releasing it on 30th September. Unlike previous single releases, this song will only be performed by Micky and JaeJoong, where they both composed and wrote the song together. Amidst the legal wrangle with SM Entertainment, this is perhaps one piece of good news for TVXQ fans all around the world.

Kara’s In Demand
With the Kara mania spreading rapidly in Japan, it's no surprise that even with all that overseas promotion talk, these ladies are still very much in demand in their home as well.
The girls have released their 2nd full length album 'Revolution' and scored double hits with "Wanna" and "Mister" and they're definitely not stopping there. Because of their widespread appeal, ranging from teenage girls to middle-aged folks, expect to see about five future ramyun and clothing CFs from these girls. They have just finished recording a few of those and are in the process of perhaps filming some more. Hooray for having the opportunity to catch the girls' cute and bubbly personalities before they head over to Japan! Then again, who knows, maybe DSP Entertainment might have the girls filming some Japanese CFs as well during their promotional time during their end of the year promotions.
T-MAX will be returning with a concert after 2 long years and luckily for them, with Kim Joon's recent popularity through Boy over flowers, things are looking good!
3 member band T-MAX will be returning on August 28th, 2009 at 7:30PM KST to put on their first Korean concert at the Seoul YoungDeungPo Art Hall. Prior to this concert, the band put on a concert in May in Japan at the Harajuku Astro Hall, called "T-MAX First Live." They even held concerts in Taiwan and Hong Kong, to establish themselves as a "Hallyu band."
T-MAX's label Planet 905 stated:
"Because of T-MAX's overseas activities, there wasn't many opportunities to meet with domestic fans. With this event, we are hoping T-MAX can meet with domestic fans once again. T-MAX will also be preparing a surprise event for this concert, so we hope fans will highly anticipate it."

In related news, Big Bang will be performing together on August 26th in Seoul at the Hongdae Live Hall. Fans are extremely excited about this, as It's been a very long time since Big Bang has been on the Korean stages.
And there's even more good news for Big Bang fans, as there is a high possibility that Daesung will be discharged from the hospital on either the 27th or the 28th.
YG Entertainment stated:
"Unfortunately, due to Daesung's accident, he won't be able to perform on the 26th. Regardless, Big Bang will stand in front of fans and put on a good performance."

G-Dragon and 2NE1 to attend Global Gathering Korea!
Big Bang member G-Dragon and HOT girl group 2NE1 will attend the 2009 Global Gathering Korea festival.
The Global Gathering Committee stated:
"G-Dragon and 2NE1 both have very trendy music and fashion. We feel they are a perfect fit for the Global Gathering theme, therefore we asked them to make an appearance."
The Global Gathering festival first started in England, and it occurs every year, in which 70,000 people from 8 different countries attend. It is the world's largest dance music festival and it will take place in Korea on September 18-19th.
Will there be a joint special stage performance with G-Dragon and 2NE1? My gut feeling tells me, maybe!

Junjou Romantica: Takahashi Misaki is suddenly having some unexpected and odd problems. What started as a need for some college entrance exam tutoring has somehow led him to being romanced by a suave older man who also happens to be his big brother’s best friend. Confused by all of his brand new emotions, Misaki struggles to deal with his suddenly very odd life. And if that wasn’t enough, his suitor, Usami Akihiko, has plenty of issues of his own. A man-child who decorates his room in giant teddy bears and toys, Usami is a famous novelist who also writes steamy boys’ love novels on the side. When Misaki cracks open one of these books and reads sentences like “Usami licks every inch of Misaki’s hot body”…well, let’s just say that all hell breaks loose.
Junjou Egoist: Kamijou Hiroki is a broken man, consumed by unrequited love for his childhood friend, Usami Akihiko (the writer from Junjou Romantica). Along comes Kusama Nowaki, whose name "Nowaki" means "typhoon", an orphan working his way through life since middle school. Like the typhoon he is named for, he whirls into Hiroki's life and heart, blowing all resistance away before him.
Junjou Terrorist: As fate would have, Miyagi, Yoh (The professor Kamijo, Hiroki works for as an assistant professor) and Takatsuki, Shinobu, Miyagi’s bosses son AND his ex-wife’s brother, would cross paths. Shinobu, who says whatever’s on his mind, tries to break into Miyagi’s world, saying things like, “its destiny!” While the 17 year old tries to invade Miyagi’s peace, the 35 year old is still lost in his dramatic past of his love for his late teacher, a past he thinks that will never stop lingering. As the Terrorist he is, Shinobu invades and destroys Migayi’s daily lifestyle, dramatically changing the Professor’s heart, making the older man’s heart grow into something new, as it’s destined to be…

There is also a short 4 chapter story entitled Junjou Mistake/Mystique. This is set 10 years before the beginning of the other stories and follows Ryūichirō Isaka (Usagi's editor) and his assistant, Kaoru Asahina. The two had been playmates since young after Ryūichirō's father took the Asahina's in and employed them. Over the years, Ryūichirō came to love Kaoru, but he believes it to be in vain as he is convinced Kaoru is in love with his father.

Big Bang on Hey Hey Hey! Big Bang in Japan
Big Bang was a featured guest on a recent episode of the popular Japanese show Hey! Hey! Hey! (Hey x 3). Since all members were present during the playback (Daesung included), it seems the recording for this particular episode took place weeks ago. I couldn't understand what they're saying but it was still funny to watch the interactions, they also performed their single "Gara Gara Go." In the past, TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki was on Hey x3 as guests previously on two occassions.
SNSD SooYoung’s Sister To Make A Musical Debut
Remember SNSD SooYoung's JOTA sister, Soo Jin, on the show Introducing A Star's Friend? Well, she is on her way to become a star just like her younger sister because she will be appearing in the musical "Jack The Ripper".
Soo Jin has been preparing a lot for her role of Gloria in the production which is set to kick off in December, which also stars Ahn Jae Wook. She has said her dreams are finally coming true with the debut of her musical career.
The last time we saw Soo Jin we heard her voice and saw her dancing skills, and if I can recall, she wasn't half bad. BUT we all have seen SNSD's horror film acting abilities (or lack thereof) and if those abilities are in Soo Jin's genes, she'll be going nowhere fast. Therefore I can't be too hopeful of Soo Jin's career as an actress in a horror musical, but hopefully she's got some talent. A pretty face like that shouldn't go to waste.

Hwayobi celebrates with Sleepy
After her sweet performance with boyfriend, Sleepy, Hwayobi has released her second MV, Kiss Kiss Kiss from her mini-album, Summer. The video includes the couple joking around, playing Wii and just madly in love. This video isn't all flashy like some people, but it's relaxed and cute just like Hwayobi.
2NE1 to Promote Entire Mini-Album!
I know I'm not the only one who has a hard time believing that 2NE1 is barely 100 days young; with their chart-dominating songs and with a mini-documentary in the making, this fearsome foursome has firmly established itself among the girl groups and risen above the mere title of 'rookie group'.
Many artists like to come out with an album, choose a few songs to promote, then take a break for a few months before repeating the cycle, but after dropping their first mini-album in July then promoting 'I Don't Care' and taking a four-day break, 2NE1's coming back from their brief vacation stronger than ever. YG Entertainment recently stated, “After the release of 2NE1’s first mini-album, not only is the title song doing well up on music charts, other songs on the album were also very well-received, that is why we decided that we will not go with just one song for their follow-up promotions.”
Fans, rejoice - this means you will be seeing 'Pretty Boy', 'In the Club', 'Let's Go Party' AND 'Stay Together' starting at the end of this month!
Lee Young Ae Got Married!
Lee Young Ae, titular star of the internationally beloved 2003 drama Dae Jang Geum, is now Jung Young Ae!
The actress (38) and her groom (55) tied the knot on August 24th, at a secret ceremony in the United States. Only families of the bride and groom attended the wedding, which was in the US because the mysterious "Mr. Jung" is a Korean-American.
Not much is known about Lee Young Ae's significant other, other than his graduation from the Illinois Institute of Technology and his current career in IT-related fields. They dated for the past 10 years after being introduced to each other by friends. A representative of Lee Young Ae said that they have not released photos of the wedding or the couple out of respect for the husband's privacy, which is unfortunate, but understandable.
It's nice to see such a huge star have a quiet, low-key marriage to a non-celebrity - it gives the rest of us fans some hope. Best wishes for the new couple!
Lee Siyoung is InStyle & Darling
Boys Before Flowers actress and singer Lee Siyoung is back with a refreshing spread in InStyle magazine, September edition. Though I didn't like her character in Boys Before Flowers, Siyoung's amiable, down-to-earth personality really shows in these shots. She's able to mix sweet with sleepy and serene with sexy to give the photoshoot a very natural, casual feel. Also, check out the comeback of the latest bunny ear fad and Siyoung's Gundam wall that she featured in We Got Married!
CL is on Fire
For all my past thoughts that CL wasn't really worth much as eye candy...forgive me for I have sinned. CL stood out in my eyes and the eyes of everyone else at the 36&37 Digital Music Award Ceremony. The girls are generally known for wearing unique clothing, but CL's Rockman belt, sleeveless shirt, and ripped up jeans certainly was alluring. And of course the banana earrings caught my eye first and longest. It made a certain long, soft, and yellow friend rather hard after that. That combined with flexibility and nice looking twins and it looks like we have a winner.
The other girls looked very fine as well, but I'm afraid none of the others evoked such strong feelings in those of the reporters
The secrets behind 2NE1’s success
An SBS Special documentary on 2NE1 is set to air on September 6th, 2009. The documentary will try to uncover the secrets of what goes into making a hit song.
An SBS official stated:
"We've completed filming and the production is now in editing. We're trying to discover what, if any patterns exist in hit songs, therefore the documentary will analyze previous hit songs and artists as well as the present."
This documentary will cover past hit songs by artists such as, Kim Gunmo, Lee Moonsae, Shin Seunghun and of course now 2NE1.
The crew stated:
"YG Entertainment's 2NE1 is the hottest group at the moment. We have interviewed CEO Yang Hyuksuk, Producers Teddy (1Tym) and G-Dragon (Big Bang), to try to discover the secrets of how a hit song is created."
